All of Jan & Jul sun hats provide excellent protection with UPF 50+ rated fabrics with no added chemicals. Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) is the rating measure of sun protection for fabrics. It indicates how much of sun’s UV rays can penetrate through the fabric onto your skin. A UPF 50 fabric blocks 98 percent of the UVA and UVB rays and only allows two percent (1/50th) to pass through. According to Skin Cancer Foundation, a sun hat or sun protective clothing must have a UPF of 30 to qualify for their seal of recommendation to reduce your risk of exposure. A UPF of 30 to 49 offers very good protection, while UPF 50+ rates as excellent.

Buy this hat and don't look back!
I usually don't wear sun hats since they have a tendency to look dorky on me (haha) but I love the look of this hat and it goes with EVERYTHING! It's breathable during the summer and I like that it folds easily so I can bring it wherever I go. I also have a small head so those cute straw hats fly off all the time, but I have never found that to be the case with the Jasper Hat. I wear it without the strap, with the back cinched in, and I don't have to worry about it blowing away in the wind. But also nice to have the strap for super windy days at the beach too. I'll definitely get so many years of use!
