Women’s Rain Jacket Review: Coastal Fleece-Lined Jacket
Getting outside with my kids is a top priority, and weather doesn’t change that! We live in the rainy Pacific Northwest, so finding a jacket that is 100% waterproof is very important. I’m also always looking for one that is functional without sacrificing style. I’ve been wearing Jan & Jul’s Coastal Rain Jacket, and it’s become a fast new favourite! Here’s my review so you can find your new favourite warm women’s rain jacket too!
It’s 100% Waterproof and Breathable
Fall to Spring on the west coast means rain, and sometimes a bit of wet snow. The Coastal Rain Jacket has kept me warm and dry on the rainiest – and a few snowy – days this winter, exploring on trails and playing on the beach with my little ones! The waterproof material is really breathable, so unlike traditional plasticky rain jackets, it doesn’t give you that hot, clammy feeling. The rain beads right off the material, so it dries very quickly too!
Cozy Warm Fleece Lining
I’m a big fan of Jan & Jul's Kids Cozy-Dry Rain Jackets, so I was excited about an option for women! When it’s chilly to the bone, the fleece-lined body and hood really help to keep warmth in. I’ve worn a sweater underneath on cold days that are just below 0°C and its plenty warm enough.
The Perfect Fit and Stylish
When writing this women’s rain jacket review, I knew I had to highlight the thing I absolutely love about this jacket: its functional and still looks great! So often with women’s rain jackets I find it’s one or the other. If it’s functional it’s not the look I want, or worse, it looks great but isn’t at all functional for wet weather.
The fit is true to size, with a nice, relaxed feel. It hits near the top of the thigh and has a two-way zipper, which is especially handy for getting right on level with my two-year-old who wants to show me everything. Jan & Jul never miss with adding the perfect details! There are two lined side pockets big enough for snacks, and a lapel pocket for a phone or keys – helping you have bag-less outings! There’s reflective detail on the back for safety and snaps over the zipper too. The quality is felt in every detail of this rain jacket! The hood is comfortable and has some structure, so it doesn't fall backwards or forwards. And its adjustable to get a snug fit if needed.
