Waterproof Baby Cover

Cozy-Dry Waterproof Baby Cover – From My Idea to Reality

For years I was searching for a baby cover that was truly waterproof, breathable, lightweight and warm, with no luck. Several years ago, my family connected with Jan & Jul for some photoshoots and I had to tell Florence, the founder, about my idea for a waterproof baby cover!

I remember going to the office with my daughter Iola and baby Kovah (aka my kangaroo baby), and I needed multiple bags to carry all our stuff. I was using a baby cover at the time which I used for my 2 previous babies, and it came everywhere with me. It did the job to keep the baby warm, it could also be thrown over the car seat, used as a jacket to shield them outside, and as a cover in the stroller. It was arguably the most used baby item in my quiver of essentials, but it wasn’t waterproof and was quite bulky!

In an industry where brands are constantly introducing new products, you would think that finding a waterproof baby cover would be easy. Surprisingly, there were only two options to choose from and neither were suitable for our rainy Vancouver weather. This is where my idea for a waterproof baby cover came to fruition.

All Season Comfort

Now that the cooler weather is upon us, the question is how to dress your baby for winter. The Cozy-Dry Baby Rain Cover is made from the same Jan & Jul waterproof fabric I love, that’s 100% waterproof and PVC & fluorine free. It’s great for rainy day hikes or for quick school run trips. This waterproof baby cover is also lightweight and windproof, has a built in hood, and kangaroo pockets to keep your hands toasty while they rest on baby’s back. It’s so comfortable!

Easy to Clean and Use

In the design process, we wanted to make sure this cover was super easy to use. The fabric has Bionic-Finish® technology from Germany, which makes cleaning a dream. The adjustable straps and buckles make it easy to attach to any carrier, stroller and car seat. The fleece lining is moisture-wicking while the waterproof fabric is breathable – this helps your baby regulate body temperature naturally. As layering is essential during the winter, the cover is a breeze to remove and re-attach for putting hats, mittens and boots on the go.

Built in Safety Features

One of my favourite features of Jan & Jul’s waterproof baby cover is the reflective strips. These are especially handy on those grey rainy days when you will be using the cover day in and day out. The reflective piping on the hood can be seen with the hood up or down, as well as on the kangaroo pocket. I consider zippered pockets a safety feature for parents, as we need a secure place for the essentials like your keys, phone and wallet. Knowing that your personal items are secure while you jostle around the playground or braving the elements while soothing your fussy baby means there is one less thing to worry about.

My only wish is that Cozy-Dry Waterproof Baby Rain Cover was available when I had my first baby! It is the number one item that I gift to my friends at their baby showers as it is the gift that keeps on giving. It is amazing to see my idea brought to reality with Jan & Jul, and I hope that you love the cover as much as I do!
