Kids Rainy-Day Essentials
Fall is in the air and my family is anticipating all the fun the season brings! Corn mazes, the fall fair, and – a big favourite – a visit to the pumpkin patch. A key factor in all this fun is making sure the kids are dressed for the weather so that the outing is not impacted by cooler temps or rain. Here are some of my kids’ rainy-day essentials that we will be using this fall.
A 100% Waterproof Jacket
We live on the west coast which means we have a lot of cool, very wet months throughout the year. A waterproof jacket is a necessity! What's most important is that my kids' rain jackets will be comfortable and fully waterproof. My essentials for a rainy day are Jan & Jul’s kids rain jackets as they are 100% waterproof, durable, breathable, and high-quality – the perfect hand me downs! Mine are still in great shape after a couple years of wear! The shell and fleece lined option are both great for layering in the spring and fall. I just add a fleece layer for our PNW winters.
A Great Pair of Waterproof Shoes
Waterproof footwear is essential for outdoor fall fun because no one likes wet feet. Jan and Jul’s Lite Winter Boots are a personal favourite of my kids and great rainy day essentials. They keep all the water out and have a cozy warm lining. For days that are milder, their waterproof sneakers are my 6-year-olds top choice. These are an awesome lightweight sneaker, great for school and play and perfect for rainy days.
Rain Pants to Finish the Fit
I don’t know about you, but waterproof pants are essentials to my kids when they’re out on a rainy day. Whether they’re rolling down grass hills, trudging through the pumpkin patch or finding the biggest puddles, I want my kids to stay dry underneath. Jan and Jul’s rain pants tick all my boxes: easy to move in, comfortable and, most importantly, waterproof. If you’re into a one piece, their rain suits are the best we’ve tried! Their rain gear is also stain-resistant, which I think all of us who do the laundry can appreciate!
Whether the ground is wet and mucky or it’s pouring rain, if you head out in good gear you’ll be prepared for fun! Jan and Jul have the best kids’ rainy-day essentials that you need, so get your kids rain gear, stay dry, and have a blast outside this season!
