The Kids Cap for Every Adventure

The Kids Cap for Every Adventure

With three kids four years old and under, mornings can be tough. Trying to dress my kiddos for our pacific northwest conditions – sunny and hot one day, rainy and cold the next… maybe even some hail thrown in – is tricky. One accessory we always reach for – a kids cap!

Jan & Jul has two types of Xplorer Caps, one is made from 100% cotton and one that matches the UV swimwear, to fit this need.

We’ve had some unseasonably warm days this spring here in Vancouver. Lucky us, we even managed to spend a few days on the beach! On those days, my daughter loved wearing her kids cap from Jan & Jul that matches her Diving Cats UV Suit.

On the cooler days (and especially the rainy ones) the kids have been wearing cotton caps. I suit them up in their rain gear, put a cotton hat on and then put the hood over top. Then they stay dry plus the rain stays out of their faces.

I also love that I can squeeze a cotton cap into my son’s preschool bag, and he can easily put it on himself when his class heads outside for the day.

A few of the other features we love about this kids cap:

  1. Snap-back adjustment: We’ve found hats with a snap-back adjustment last at least two years which is so nice.
  2. Sun protection: The Xplorer caps have 50+ UPF sun protection that comes from the weave of the fabric, so no weird chemicals added.
  3. Cute prints: I especially love that there are caps that match the UV gear, so cute!!
  4. Comfortable: The cotton headband inside is meant to absorb sweat and keep kiddos cool.

The other thing about the caps that I love, is how perfect they are on the days my kids don’t want to wear their sun hats. I find even on our adventures outside in the spring and fall, they’re just not protected enough without something on their heads. So the caps have been an amazing compromise and have minimized morning squabbles over what to wear.

I will certainly take that parenting win!!
